Boy Scout Knives

The BSA (Boy Scouts of America) was founded back in 1910 and the first official BSA knife was created in 1911. Since then hundreds of boy scout knives were created from all different kinds of manufacturers. Until 2007 all of these knives were made in the USA but after that most of the knives have been made in unknown factories in China. It was easy to tell which of these knives were made in China because they stamped the word right on the knives.

Rapid River Knifeworks have many high-quality, hand-made folding pocket knives made right here in the USA that are used by boy scouts across our nation. Come see why Rapid River Knifeworks is the go-to-choice when picking out a boy scout knife.

Boy Scouts Fixed Blade Knives

Read the official answer to fixed blade knives in the boy scouts.

Q. What is the official BSA regulation on carrying sheath knives?
A.
The Boy Scout HandbookBear Handbook, and Webelos Handbook contain the program for the safe and responsible use of knives. The BSA believes choosing the right equipment for the job at hand is the best answer to the question of what specific knife should be used. We are aware that many councils or camps may have limits on the type or style of knife that should be used. The BSA neither encourages nor bans fixed-blade knives nor do we set a limit on blade length. Additional information is found in the Guide to Safe Scouting.
